How many portable toilets do I need?
OSHA 1926.51(c)(1) sets the baseline for construction sites: one toilet facility for 20 workers or fewer, then one toilet seat and one urinal per 40 workers up to 200, and one toilet seat and one urinal per 50 workers at 200 or more. Do handwashing stations meet OSHA rules?
For general construction sites, 29 CFR 1910.141(d)(2) requires soap and towels or a hand drying device. Hand sanitizer does not satisfy this. Handwashing stations with running water do. Where employees apply paints, coatings, herbicides or insecticides, OSHA 1926.51(f)(1) requires washing facilities at the site. A portable sink rental or handwashing station meets the rule. How do I know if my septic tank is failing?
